Migrants are not alone.
After the training session held on December the 13th by the project Migrant Skills Register, where 40 people, mostly asylum seekers and refugees were given professional help about the better way to integrate into the Maltese society (http://africanmediamalta.com/wordpress/?p=897), another initiative is set up by the CCIF ( Cross Cultural International Foundation), together with MOVE.( http://www.movemalta.org/) This project, branded STEP UP, “equips the migrants… with the necessary knowledge and tools to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Through the training offered in the project the migrants will be empowered to reach their full potential and hence be able to lead an independent living. This will be achieved mainly through professional training, coaching, mentoring and hands on training and experience by volunteering in the local communities.”
All migrants are welcome to register and benefit from an opportunity to learn more about making a business plan.
The workshop will take place at MCAST (Malta College of Arts Science and Technology) on 14 – 15 January 2017 in Paola, Triq Kordin. One of the contact person is Alec Douglas, for more details.
